Hello! I'm Liz and I'm a counsellor and hypnotherapist, working with people and their situations since 2004. I'm based in Essex, plus work with people on zoom.

I specialise in two areas.

  • Addiction - I have recently completed a Masters in Addiction Psychology and Counselling and love helping people get back in control of their relationship with alcohol or cocaine, or stop smoking / vaping.
  • People who are living with heart disease and struggling to deal with the emotions that can arise, following a heart attack, valve replacements, cardiac arrests, stents, heart failure etc. I work alongside the NHS and work with patients / families at local hospitals.

Other Areas

I choose to work with people who have addictions or cardiac disease as their primary focus, but as part of the work, clients tend to have background issues of stress, anxiety, depression, background of trauma, anger, insomnia, grief etc.  I work with adults, aged 21 plus.

Training, Qualifications and Experience

  • Counselling – I became a person centred counsellor in 2004, specialising in alcohol, grief and adoption work.
  • Hypnotherapy – I completed my Diploma in Hypnotherapy in 2014 and have taken many more courses as CPD since.
  • Addiction – I completed my Masters in Addiction Psychology and Counselling in 2023 (this year!), specialising in alcohol, nicotine, cocaine, gambling and bariatric surgery.

I established my full time private practice in 2016, following a 20 year career in supporting people with mental health issues, living in the community.
