Taking APHP forward

Starting, April 10th, 2009, the Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy will initiate a 30-day membership consultation process of which the aim is to discuss, develop and evaluate on how to take the association forward.

One key area will be the proposed re-structure and format of the administrative committee. In order to ensure smoother and more economical management, we intend to phase out the existing Administrative Committee and replace it with a Board of Management. The board will consist of Terence Watts, Julie Watts, Wendy Pilkington, Paul Fowler and two ordinary members of the organisation who will each be responsible for specific tasks.

"APHP has achieved so much in less than a decade," said APHP chairman, Terence Watts. "Building on that success, and with important issues to further consider, such as imminent professional regulation, now is the time to plan for the future - not just to help strengthen APHP's position but the profession as a whole."

If less than 30% from the membership disagrees with this intention , we will assume agreement for the process to go ahead with the restructure being launched, August 1st 2009. Let us know what you think.

Other areas for up discussion will be the most preferred format of receiving APHP-related information. Amongst other things, this will take into account the most convenient way that members receive information, along with the environmental concerns of delivering information.

Member opinions will also be sought on a range of subjects that may affect the association, as well as the profession as a whole. This includes; mandatory photo identification cards, criminal records checks and enhance PR and marketing initiatives.
