IMPORTANT NEWS! Annual Cash Awards for APHP members – – are you eligible? APHP Bursaries for Practice Development Having commenced our bursary scheme in 2006 APHP continues to award four bursaries for practice development each year. The first is for the most outstanding newcomer to the profession, selected from candidates who have been put forward from Schools accredited by APHP. Each school may put forward one candidate only and all candidates will be interviewed by the APHP Administration Committee. The bursary of £1000.00 will be awarded to the candidate who can show the highest potential for success within the profession. It is hoped that this incentive will enable the recipient of the bursary to get a fine start into setting up a professional practice. Both candidate and trainer will receive a certificate to mark the honour and both will be able to announce the award in any publicity and promotional material. There will also be three annual bursaries to help with practice development for qualified hypnotherapists who can show that they have in some way promoted Hypnotherapy to an outstanding degree. It is intended to encourage the advancement and development of the profession. The awards are for £750.00, £500.00 and £250.00 and will be given once a year to the most deserving applicants as decided by the Administration Committee although if, in the opinion of the committee, there are no outstanding applications, the awards will not be given. Although it is intended to help you enhance your practice in some way, there is no restriction on how the money is spent. The awards will be presented at the Annual Conference each year. Here are some examples of what might constitute eligibility: A promotion that has brought hypnotherapy to the public in a positive light A new/improved technique that is freely shared with other therapists Instigation/management of a successful local therapists' support group A regular free clinic for financially disadvantaged individuals Original research that provides new insights into specific areas Setting up a free 'drop in' clinic for people to discuss their anxieties anonymously You can apply on your own account, or you can nominate others; in either event, it is important that you furnish us with full details of what has been achieved, along with any supporting documentation you can furnish. Preference will be given to the best documented presentations with the greatest impact within the world of Hypnotherapy.
